Description
The Florida Sandhill Crane is protected by the US Migratory Bird treaty act and as a state designated threatened species by Florida’s Endangered and Threatened Species Rule.
It can reach a height of almost 48 inches and a wingspan of almost 79 inches. The Florida Sandhill Crane is gray with a long neck and legs, with a bald spot of red skin on top of its head.
Interesting fact: Sandhill Cranes choose one mate for life.
