The Fire Prevention and Life Safety project, also known as FirePALS, is a community outreach group with a mission to educate younger generations on fire safety through children’s books and activities. The St. Cloud Main Street FirePALS book box is the 16th installment in this city wide project. Each box goes through a process from creation to installation before being strategically placed throughout the community. Please check out the FirePALS website here to learn about the process and see some of the artists in action painting the boxes.
After our box was installed this morning a neighbor walked over and donated the first books to our FirePALS library. Currently the box has a young adult adventure series in it plus books that were left over from our summer reading program Storybook Adventures. All of the Storybook Adventure books are signed by the authors who wrote them.
If you visit our FirePALS box tag us on instagram using #scmsfirepals and we will feature your images! We cannot wait to see all of the young readers visiting our box.
If you would like to donate books or monetary contributions to FirePALS find more infromation on their website here. Book donations can be dropped off at Fire Station 31 near downtown St. Cloud.
